La Bohème is a tragic love story of Mimí and Rodolfo.
Set in Paris in the 1830s, four arty types shiver in their Latin Quarter garret; the artist Marcello, the poet Rodolfo, Colline, a philosopher, and Schaunard, a musician. Trying to keep warm on Christmas Eve, they feed the stove with pages from Rodolfo’s latest drama. For these young bohemians, art is life! It’s a timeless story that celebrates free-spirited creativity and expresses the romantic power of love. With some of the most glorious music ever composed, it has made its way to being one of the most popular operas ever written.
