Henry Pucell’s semi-opera King Arthur with libretto by John Dryden is based on the battles between King Arthur's Britons and the Saxons. For all you lovers of the legends of Camelot, this is not it (although Merlin does make an appearance). The tale centres on Arthur's endeavours to recover his fiancée, the blind Cornish Princess Emmeline, who has been abducted by his arch-enemy, the Saxon King Oswald of Kent.

Get ready for the all the drama in this new staging by director Erik Thor, where “the audience is asked to consider our national identity and the conflict of ideologies of our own time.”
